Africa Union and SADC have refused to accept the change in Zimbabwe which the Army is pushing for saying Mugabe still has sometime before his term is completed so he should be allowed to finish before any changes are made. However the army has insisted on having a transition government but Mugabe has refused to step down. The Army has their own preferred candidates to take over from Mugabe and analyst have explained that the Army has refused to let Mugabe continue for fear of Top Army officers getting arrested for treason should Mugabe resume his presidency.
