Chilubi District Administrative Officer-DAO Deogratius Mwamba has denied allegations of defiling a 14-year old girl of Chilubi.

Reacting to a trending news item posted on Radio Mano Facebook page yesterday, Mr. Mwamba charges that he is not that stupid to sink that low to the extent of defiling the minor as reported to the police by the father of the girl.

He claims that it was simply a wrong misunderstanding and as such the girl’s parents have since apologized for bringing his name into ridicule and shame.

The District Administrative Officer says people should not be quick to judge insisting that nothing happened.

Mr. Mwamba who described the allegation as frivolous, vexatious, false and malicious adds that he wanted to take legal action against some people but was restrained by elders.

Meanwhile, a cross section of followers on Radio Mano 89.3FM Facebook page expressed disappointment at the senior government official’s alleged defiling of a 14-year old girl.

Yesterday, police in Northern Province disclosed that a senior government official in Chilubi District has allegedly defiled a 14-year old girl.

Provincial Police Commissioner Richard Mweene said Mike Maembe, the father of the defiled girl reported the matter to Chilubi police that his daughter was defiled by 38 year old Deogratius Mwamba who is Chilubi District Administrative Officer-DAO.

Commissioner Mweene told Mano News that the incident happened between 18th and 19th November 2017, around 09:00 hours and 12:00 hours at Muchinchi Township in Chilubi.

He said police have since effected an arrest for Mr. Mwamba who he said will soon appear in court for defilement.
