Democracy Triumphs In Zimbabwe-Shimunza

STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

Democracy Triumph in Zimbabwe!

21- 11-2017

As Movement for National Transformation MNT,  we are very elated with the Zimbabwean people for allowing the spirit of democracy to triumph over and above the military action or intervention in removing the regime that has ruled that country for over 37 years. Media reports of Mugabe’s resignation being recieved with jubilation and celebrations in that nation, attests to the starvation of freedom that the people endured for so long. The tears of joy and hope on the faces of children, men and women alike igniting faith in a new dispensation of democracy. Fears of oppression dispelled by the voices of democracy in a renewed social contract with the new emerging leaders, must not be disappointed or squandered.

The Spirit of Democracy has triumphed in Zimbabwe, against all oppression Which has lost its evil grip on the nation. All leaders must know, that how you finish strong as a legacy, is more important than how you started. Like rain that sweeps aways the harvest, is a leader who over stays in power erasing his legacy.

The spirit of democracy has triumphed in Zimbabwe. There is no leader, who can stop the spirit of democracy. The human spirit of freedom cannot be subjugated for too long. Let every leader know that,  the oppression of any people, at anytime, anywhere, will not outlive the people. The people will always outlive police brutality, corruption,  deception, manipulation,  military abuse,  and oppressive political rule. Zambia must learn from this. Our nation deserves better.

Keeping people in fear will not last long. Only legitimate democratically elected leadership serves with credibility, integrity, and longevity. All African leaders must learn that legitimacy and authority must come from the people themselves. To rig elections or over staying in power are both an affront to democracy. Presidential terms must be respected by all without manipulation of constitutional frameworks for personal gain, against the will of the people. The will of the people must be respected at all times.

Zimbabwe must not only impeach Mugabe, but replace him with democratic institutions, structures, systems and separation of powers. The rule of law must be  safeguarded as the criteria of separation of powers. Africa does not need strong men or women, but strong institutions of democracy to sustain the gains of this new emerging democratic leadership on the continent.

Zimbabwe must not ever going forward, allow a form of despotic regime, that perpetrates dictatorial tendencies in the governance style against the will of the people.

Zambia and it’s leadership, must learn that no leader will stay in power forever. At some point the majority of Citizens in the spirit of democracy will determine their own form of government and rule. We must strengthen our electoral reforms, rule of law, and legal frameworks for separation of powers. Our democracy must be contextualised and matured to be tolerant, accommodating, and complementary of divergent views. We celebrate with the people of Zimbabwe in all for the spirit of democracy.

As a christian nation we need transformative leadership, that promotes justice and righteousness in governance to the glory of God.

May God bless Zimbabwe, and remember Zambia in all to become  a great first world nation.
