Leslie Chikuse says PF Ministers must have plundered a lot of money from the national treasury when they continued to illegally execute their duties when Parliament dissolved to pave way for the 2016 elections.
And Chikuse has gone for Chishimba Kambwili for refusing to pay back what he owes the Zambian people.
Chikuse who is Republican Progressive Party(RPP) vice president said in an interview that other than illegally drawing salaries and allowances, both serving and former ministers must have stolen huge sums of money from poor Zambians and repatriated the cash in offshore accounts, because there was anxiety that the PF might not be voted back to power in the last elections.
He said the thieving Ministers saw an opportunity in their prolonged stay in office to plunder national resource and secure their future.
This, he said, is a reason why the Auditor General’s report shows theft of public funds that has never been seen before.
“We are not just talking about the salaries and allowances these comrades continued to draw, but we are saying that they stole a lot money to secure their future because their were no signs that PF could be voted back to office,” Chikuse said
And the RPP vice president regretted that Kambwili who served as Chief Government Spokesperson when the offence was committed is in the forefront of refusing to pay back the money.
“We wonder why honourable Kambwili, the man who wants to be called ‘Mr President’ is the one who is in a forefront refusing to pay back the money. How do we expect such a man to preside over our affairs?” Chikuse wondered.
