United Party for National Development (UPND) Lusaka Youth Information and Publicity Secretary Samuel Ngwira is now calling for the resignation of Attorney General Likando Kalaluka for professional misconduct.
This follows a ruling by the Constitutional Court that as Chief Government Legal Adviser, Kalaluka was not supposed to represent the 64 ministers that continued occupying office after parliament dissolved to pave way for the 2016 polls.
The court observed that since parliament which employed them ceased to operate, their duties were terminated hence the Attorney General was not supposed to to represent them in the legal matter.
Briefing the press in Lusaka, Ngwira called for Kaluluka to step down for misconducting himself, thereby exposing the presidency to ridicule.
Ngwira said the Constitutional Court ruling has exposed Kaluluka’s incompetence.
“At this juncture, we wish to call on the resignation of Mr Kaluluka,” Ngwira said.
He said the 64 serving and former Ministers should speed-up the process of paying back what they owe to the Zambian people.
“If they don’t pay back, will effect citizen arrest on them,” Ngwira said.
