Zesco And Arrows Draw As League Opens Up

ZESCO United were today held to a 0-0 draw at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium by Red Arrows in the rescheduled match.

The match which was put off last night due to lighting failure saw Arrows who had nothing but pride to play for force a draw against a club they have only beaten twice in 22 games.

The draw puts ZESCO at 70 points and still topping but means that they will fight hard in thier last two matches.

Green Eagles who lost 1-0 to Nkana for yesterday are ZESCO Uniteds next opponents as they host the Ndola based Giants.

Eagles won’t want a loss as that could put them in relegation problems especially if Mufulira Wanderers beat Nkana fc on Saturday.

Wanderers themselves are coming from a 2-1 loss away to Nchanga Rangers and have two very tricky last matches starting with Nkana Fc and ending with ZESCO United.

Nkana Fc will travel to Shinde Stadium knowing fully well that Nkana hasn’t done that well there in the past and a loss could push Lusaka Dynamos back in with a top 4 chance.

Lusaka Dynamos have to beat Kabwe Warriors this weekend and after losing 1-0 to already relegated Real Nakonde the Lusaka based side may not be as confident against a team fighting relegation.

One thing that is clear is that this coming weekend will be one if the most exciting Zambia has experienced in years.
