Over 200 Kapalala Market Traders Receive K250 Each

 

 

 

Ndola- THE Presidential Empowerment Initiative Patron Chanda Kabwe has distributed in excess of fifty thousand kwacha (50, 000) to traders at Kapalala market in Ndola on the Copperbelt who lost their goods when the market was gutted.

 

Mr Kabwe says he will ensure that all the affected traders receive the empowerment fund so that they can be productive again.

 

Mr Chanda Kabwe who is also Central province Permanent Secretary said this during the distribution of funds at kapalala market in Ndola. He was  accompanied by Copperbelt provicial minister  Bowman Lusambo and Ndola District Commissioner.

 

And Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo has reassured affected traders that they will be accorded space at the modern market once it is reconstructed.

 

Property worth over 18 million kwacha was destroyed in the inferno at Kapalala market affecting 1000 traders.

 

Meanwhile, Lusambo and Mr Chanda experienced a moment of bliss when marketers celebrated there grand entry into the market. The duo conducted a fact finding mission, interacting with traders on a one on one with an aim of finding out their challenges and how the registration process for presidential fund beneficiaries was being conducted.

 

300 more traders are earmarked to receive lifeline next week.
