Moses Sichone Is New FAZ Technical Director

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has unveiled former Chipolopolo star Moses Sichone as the new assistant Technical Director.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga unveiled Sichone at a media briefing at Football House saying that the move was part of the reorganization of the secretariat.

The former Chipolopolo midfielder starred for different Bundesliga sides since trekking to Germany in 1999 when he signed for FC Koln from Nchanga Rangers.

Sichone hang his boots plying his trade for FC Bergheim and took up some coaching badges.
He was part of the league winning side for Nchanga Rangers in 1998.

Sichone will immediately join the Cosafa U-20 side currently in camp and will be part of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) team in Morocco in January.

He holds a UEFA A licence which ranks him among the cream of trainers on the continent.

“We are still proceeding with a number of changes within the secretariat. Today we are introducing a new member of the team, Mr Sichone who is coming in to fill the gap on the technical side because we have not had a Technical Director since Mr Honour Janza left earlier in the year,” he said.
“In earnest we are preparing ourselves for next year, come next year we will have a new look administration. We have set the bar quite high. So we want next year to be completely different. We have had a number of issues around registration of players.”

Kamanga also said that names for members of the Audit and Compliance Committee and Ethics Committee will be revealed next year.

And Sichone said that he was happy to be coming back to help the Zambian game grow.
The position of Technical Director has been vacant since Honour Janza left last year.
