Dont Shun Rural Areas, Teachers Told

The Zambia National Union of Teachers is appealing to teachers who have been deployed in rural areas in the 2017 recruitment to take up the positions in order to help learners in rural areas.
Union Secretary General Newman Bubala observes that although teachers in rural areas encounter hardships compared to those in urban areas, learners in rural parts of the country also need proper education just like anyone else.
Mr Bubula has told Phoenix News that most teachers reject going to rural areas due to deplorable infrastructure and has since urged government to consider putting up modern infrastructure to motivate teachers deployed to work in such areas.
