THE Zambia Under-20 national soccer team will tomorrow shift base to Kitwe where they are scheduled to defend the Mopani 2018 COSAFA Under-20 championship, FAZ communications manager, Desmond Katongo has said.
Katongo in an interview said Zambia’s opponents at the youth championship to be held at Nkana and Arthur Davis Stadium in Kitwe will start arriving this Sunday.
Katongo appealed to soccer fans on the Copperbelt to support the junior Chipolopolo, noting that tickets were already on sale in all Shoprite outlets.
He noted that FAZ reduced the gate charges to encourage fans to motivate Numba Mumamba tutored squad to perform better.
“Ticket sales started in all Shoprite outlets and the prices have been slushed to encourage more people to attend the games,
“Foreign teams are expected to start trooping in this Sunday with Malawi being the first team expected to arrive followed by Egypt, Uganda, Mozambique and Swaziland scheduled to arrive in Zambia Monday,” Katongo said.
Gate charges have been pegged at K10 and 20 for Open wings and Grandstands respectively while the VIP tickets are selling at K150.
Tournament kicks off on December 6 with Zambia taking on Uganda in the first fixture of the tournament.
