The opposition UPND says it will not support the proposed law to limit the chances of a political leader to stand as presidential candidate.
Party Spokesperson Charles Kakoma in an interview with Phoenix News has charged that the UPND is aware of maneuvers by government to manipulate laws to disadvantage the opposition in the country.
Mr Kakoma says opposition political parties have their own constitutions that they follow and government cannot control its activities.
During the current judicial review process, verbal submissions were made proposing to limit the chances of long serving presidential candidates from re-contesting during the next general election, a law if passed would disadvantage candidates like the upnd leader, Hakainde Hichilema.
