Zambian DNA anticipates that the Constitutional Court’s sound judgment (Tomorrow) on President Edgar Lungu’s eligibility case will calm down anxiety and speculations Zambians have been subjected to.
Indeed, Judges should dispense justice in the interest of the nation, and not succumb to the whims of a clique of frustrated people’s selfish agenda.
Further, Judges are duty-bound to discharge their duties professionally, and not behave like biblical Pilate, whose case the ‘Court of public opinion’ adjudicated on his behalf.
There has been a barrage of screaming headlines and editorials in hostile tabloids and media over the alleged and so called ‘ third term’ by those who are against President Edgar Lungu, yet the Head of state has publicly stated that whatever judgment the Constitutional Court will pronounce, he will respect it.
Zambian DNA is urging all those fighting the President to respect whatever judgment the Con Court will pronounce even when it is not in their favor.
However, the onus is on the judges to prove to the Zambian people, in this case that has generated so much public interest, that they are professional in their conduct.
