Scarcity Of Electricity In Rural Areas Deterring Implementation of New School Curriculum

The implementation of the new primary school curriculum is progressing at a snail’s pace especially in rural schools, according to parents in Chitanga, Mungwi District.

Resident Dyness Tongoloshi says the Chitanga’s primary school has no infrastructure for subjects like Information and Communication Technology, or ICT.

Ms. Tongoloshi states on top of the lack of infrastructure, a scarcity of electricity is also causing problems…

In 2014, the Ministry of Education revised the education curriculum in order to improve the provision of education in the country. That improvement is not reaching rural schools.
