Government Urged To Reduce Borrowing

The Economics Association of Zambia says there is need for government to put in place stringent measures to reduce borrowing.
Reacting to concerns raised by the IMF on the country’s debt levels which has resulted in the halting of talks on a possible bailout package, Association Programmes Officer, Kampamba Shula feels enacting the public procurement act and public financial act will help reduce borrowing.
Mr Shula has since called on Parliamentarians to approve the two acts in order to manage the debt situation.
