Melu: No Job Cuts As Barclays Bank Zambia Repositions

Barclays Bank Zambia has reassured that there will be no job cuts as the bank embarks on repositioning some of its branches countrywide.

Speaking at a media breakfast in Lusaka today, Barclays bank Zambia Managing Director, Mizinga Melu stressed that the bank will need more human resource in this process.

Mrs. Melu disclosed that so far, Barclays bank Zambia has spent k25 million in upgrading its system and disclosed that it will before the end of this year open three new ATMS at Kabulonga, Levy and Garden city malls in Lusaka.

She has explained that the relocation process will include opening up of new branches and focus on digitalization, reduce the size of some branches and opening up of more ATMS.

And Mrs. Melu says the year 2017 has been excellent for the bank as its performance grew by 29% while its profit before tax grew more than 40%.
