COSAFA U20: Zambia’s World Cup Dream Alive – Senong

South Africa U20 National team head coach Thabo Senong believes the new Zambia U20 National team has a lot of potential and that he would not be surprised if it qualifies for the next U20 World Cup.

While regretting their elimination from the COSAFA Under 20 championships in their home ground, the coach explained that the team has enough time to harness their talent and has a squad good enough to face off with other world beaters.

-It’s sad they did not win their first two games but for me it’s about development and what I saw in Zambia is a quality team. There is a rebuilding phase and in two years don’t be surprised if that team qualify to the world cup, he said.

Zambia were knocked out of the the 2017 U20 COSAFA championships after failing to win in any of the two group stage matches they have played so far.
