Clergy Condemns Protesting Congregants

Last weeks’ protest by United Church of Zambia, Kawama congregation members has attracted the attention of a senior clergyman of Kitwe, Reverend Lubuto Nsofu.
Last Sunday, UCZ Kawama congregation members staged a protest and locked up the church demanding that the reverend in-charge and the entire executive be removed on accusation of misuse of church funds.
But Reverend Nsofu said it is sad that such was happening in church.
He said although every church has its style and standards on how they handle issues, it is morally wrong for such to be happening in a place of worship.
Reverend Nsofu is suggesting the need for churches to work on establishing strong interactions within, aimed at ensuring discourse to avoid compromising church standards.
Reverend Nsofu further condemned the growing culture of closing church buildings whenever congregants are aggrieved.

And Reverend Nsofu has disputed calls by Young Men Christian Association stating that members of the clergy who have concentrated more on teaching about prosperity and marriages instead of salvation should be punished saying the sentiments are out of order.
