Kabimba Says Zambians Have Sold Their Souls To The Chinese

And Kabimba says Post Newspapers (in liquidation) editor-in-chief Fred M’membe is entitled to the wealth he worked hard for.

Speaking during Radio Phoenix FM’s ‘Let The People Talk’ programme yesterday, Kabimba said the PF should stop taking Zambians for granted.

“The first reaction that came to my mind when I heard about the police and the Chinese is this: is the Zambia Police, is Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja short of Zambians that can undertake that responsibility, firstly? Secondly, why the Chinese? What is so special about the Chinese? Seriously, why the Chinese and why do you want to entrust the domestic security of your country in the hand of foreign nationals? Does Mr. Kanganja think that you would have a black Zambian in China as a police reserve? The answer is no! So why do we do things in this country which are abominable in other countries, which are a taboo in other countries because this internal security? Why do you want foreign nationals to be having access to police force headquarters as and when they so wish? What was the rationale for that,”

Kabimba said.

“Before the government makes a decision such as this one, they must explain it to the public. They must tell us why the Chinese and not the Zambians? There are many Zambians that can undertake such a responsibility and make sure that the security of this country is within the hands of Zambians. There was a reason why this type of legislation during the colonial era existed because a good number of people that were in Zambia were foreigners so they had to entrust the function of internal security to foreigners because they didn’t trust the Zambians. After all, we were under foreign rule.”

He said it was unfortunate that Zambians had lost their identity of the country being a sovereign state, saying the Chinese were now having an upper hand in so many areas of development in Zambia.
