Addressing Luanshya Municipal Council employees during the 2017 End of Year Party, held at Bottoms up Night Club, the Mayor said the Council as a vehicle being used to deliver the Government’s national decentralisation agenda was at the centre of government service delivery and sustainable social economic development.
“This is the reason why any comprise in service delivery which will derail our important mandate will not be tolerated in the New Year,” he said.

“Our institutional ability to deliver services to residents of this town was greatly affected by the various economic challenges being experienced not only by our country but the entire global village whose economy recorded a slow growth rate,” he said.
Mr Chanda encouraged the Council workers that despite the economic challenges they had the power to overcome the challenges they face If they continue working in one accord, adding that unity is strength.
The Mayor urged the Council workers to continue working hard and maintain their above average service delivery as an institution in the New Year.
He noted that through hard work and adhering to our institutional core values such as integrity, Excellency, respect, good governance, confidentiality, transparency and accountability the employees could show their individual and institutional true character as as positive role models to society through our focused and sustained productivity as individual and corporate citizen of Luanshya.
