Sakeni: Its Sad Youths Are Making Zambia’s Bankruptcy Possible

The sad thing about Zambia is not the moral bankruptcy of the generation that is now in leading every facet of daily life, but the young people who make this bankruptcy possible.
Older people don’t have affairs amongst themselves, and I can guarantee you there are at least 2-3 youthful contemporaries involved in every inflated public contract, illegal land transaction, or expensed workshop which never took place.

We all know the slay queens who own cars and entire apartments blocks, or guys at the bar showing off their latest cars and bragging about recent holiday vacations we very well know their declared income cannot support. This is not a call to encourage salary celibacy; by all means moral, please pursue business opportunities of your choice.

But if you know people profiteering from round-the-clock corruption by opening their legs or structuring illegal public transactions, please keep your distance lest your morals be compromised.

Corruption and theft of public resources will probably get worse before the situation improves, but please give yourself the comfort you didn’t participate in ruining our country.
