CBU Vice Chancellor Refuses To Step Down Despite Workers Not Wanting Him

Copperbelt University Vice Chancellor Professor Naison Ngoma says he will not resign from his position.
Professor Ngoma maintained that accusations against him by workers that he has failed to run the institution are not true.
Protests against the vice chancellor Naison Ngoma have entered day two with the workers defiant on their position.
And a check by YAR FM NEWS found the workers comprising all the 3 Unions namely the Copperbelt University Academics union, the Copperbelt University senior administrative and technical staff and the Copperbelt University and allied workers Union, gathered at the graduation square chatting ‘Anti Naison Ngoma Slogans’ after which they started Marching singing solidarity songs.
Yesterday the workers had locked Professor Ngoma in his office an act which incensed Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu who advised them to find reasonable means of presenting their grievances.
And speaking in an interview with YAR FM NEWS, Willy Ngosa, the general secretary for the CBU Academics Union, who spoke on behalf of his fellow workers, said it was either Professor Ngoma is fired or every member of staff will leave the University.

But, in an interview with YAR FM news, Professor Ngoma said he is employed by government through the University council, who hold the powers to fire him.
