GBM is in this Newspaper saying  President Edgar  Lungu(ECL) has betrayed street vendors. Has ECL really betrayed Sata’s people?those who were calling on top of their voices…pabwato,pabwato, pabwato has they denouncing Rupiah Banda’s rule. Is this the end of Sata’s legacy?..what have you got to say about this headline

    Unless you were too young, street vending was not brought about by the late Sata. FTJ Chiluba even referred to them as “Office of the President” and had created the post of deputy ministry at Sate House that specifically dealt with venders. Suffice to say that one cannot sacrifice public safety in order to appease the electorates.
    Street vending is found in many cities across the world, but it is orderly and well aware of public health safety concerns that, if not adhered to would endanger the lives of the population. Soweto market should have been closed well before the onset of cholera in Lusaka. That market is a health hazard. Do not politicise issues that are trivial.
