Former Environmental and Natural Resources Minister William Harrington has commended the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Jean Kapata for her bold move to remove encroachers on forest reserves.

Mr. Harrington says such activities are in violation of the forests Act and indeed these acts must be stopped.

He says it is a good thing to see that the minister has made sure that the illegal cutting down of trees in Zambia comes to an end in theses forest reserve areas.

Mr. Harrington adds that it is sad to see that the Lusaka south forestry reserve continues to suffer environmental degradation because of the illegal human attitude.
