Mwale: We’ll Suffer If We Lose

LOCAL government minister Vincent Mwale says the PF should work hard in order to succeed or else the ruling party will lose and “then they will chase us from our positions and that will make us suffer, as you know it pains to be in opposition.”

And Mwale says governments cannot be changed anyhow like clothes. Meanwhile, PF secretary general Davies Mwila says Petauke Central PF member of parliament and information and broadcasting services minister Dora Siliya rarely attends PF meetings. On Saturday, the PF launched its party mobilisation meeting for Eastern Province at Chassa Secondary School in Sinda district which was graced by Mwila.

However, before Mwila spoke, Eastern Province PF members of parliament were given few minutes each to say a word to the people or to the secretary general and his entourage.

Out of the 19 constituencies in Eastern Province, 16 belong to the PF, two are independents (Sinda and Lumezi constituencies) and one (Mkaika Constituency) is held by the MMD. When called to speak, Mwale, who is also Chipangali PF member of parliament, said the ruling party should lead by example.

“If we say let’s clean up the environment, we should be in [the] forefront to do it as not doing it will be like rising against your government. Let’s work if we are to succeed because if we don’t show, then we will lose [and] then they will chase us from our positions and that will make us suffer as you know it pains to be in opposition…” Mwale said.
