UNIVERSITY Teaching Hospital says Bupe and Mapalo, the conjoined twins that were separated on February 2, 2018, are recovering well.
University Teaching Hospital public relations officer Natalie Mashikolo in an interview yesterday said the twins were being well taken care of.
“Mapalo is doing fine and is very stable. Bupe is also responding well and we are slowly weaning her off the ventilator,” said Mashikolo.
The University Teaching Hospital on February 2, 2018 successfully separated Bupe and Mapalo in a procedure which lasted seven hours.
The operation was conducted by a team of Zambian medical doctors.
