Journalist, Chanda Chimba III, has passed on this morning at Fairview hospital in Lusaka.
Chimba was battling with a terminal cancer illness. He was diagnosed with stage four cancer.
Chimba had an illustrious Journalism career that reached its peak when he began producing the contentious “Stand up for Zambia” documentaries.
The Lusaka magistrates court sentenced him to a two-year jail sentence with hard labour for producing defamatory documentaries and disposing of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
He was released from Prison in April 2017 when President Edgar Lungu pardoned him and exercised the presidential prerogative of mercy.
