Lusaka Central Member of Parliament Hon Margaret Mwanakatwe yesterday took time to visit her constituency in a needs assesment mission to find out the challenges the electorates are faced with.
Hon. Mwanakatwe began her visit with Kulima Tower, where she was welcomed by Kulima Tower Branch officials, in the company of Independence ward 14 Councillor, George Daka before proceeding to
Town Centre Market.
The Finance Minister’s long and tiring visits ended with UTH branch, where she took time interracting with the voters.
Among the cries from the people in the areas Hon Mwanakatwe, an accountant of high pedegree visited include, youth employment and the future and plight of street vendors.
The Minister assured her bosses(the electorates) that the PF in line with its pro-poor party manifesto is committed to uplifting their living standards.
She said Government is committed to job creation and ensure that it completes the construction of decent alternative trading areas.
She told the electorates that she will begin to create small cooperatives which will be empowered in a small way.
She also asked Hon Daka to engage the council and find a lasting solutions on the plight of the street vendors
