THE Zambia Under-15 was crowned champions of the 2018 FC Barcelona Futbolnet tournament after beating Malawi 3-2 on post-match penalties.

The Under-13 was also crowned champions of the tournament after beating Malawi in the final.

Zimbabwe finished third but received a special award for the team that demonstrated great effort throughout the tournament.

According to the National Olympic Committee of Zambia Facebook page, the FC Barcelona Futbolnet is a tournament that is held in over 30 countries worldwide and uses football to teach teenagers positive values.

It is an annual 7-a-side tournament that is participated in by U-13s and U-16s teams from Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

The tournament is used as a tool to teach children values such as respect, tolerance, team work and determination.

A team that observes the aforementioned values scores more points in addition to the goals scored.
