Luo: Govt Has Withdrawn Bursaries For 5 UNZA Students Following Riots

The Ministry of Higher Education has withdrawn bursaries for five students who participated in a riot instigated by a 10-minute power outage at the institution last week.

At a media briefing, Thursday 14th June 2018, Higher Education Minister Professor Nkandu Luo condemned the riot, saying there were better ways of expressing displeasure.

The Minister stated that the riot was a premeditated one.

She identified the five (5) culprits as follows:

1. Misheck Kakonde who is popularly known as “NEIGHBOURS”

2. Richard Malambo who is popularly known as “BUFFALO”

3. Kelleys Chilekwa who is popularly known as “CHILEPULE BABY”

4. Muwende who is popularly known as “PAMUKANJO”

5. Miyenga Lifuke who is known as “MAFIFI”

    How are students supposed to voice their concerns now that Nkandu Luo has banned unions? This is the making of Nkandu Luo. Bring back the unions so that students can voice out their concerns in a civil manner.
