Mr. Hakainde Hichilema Must Stop Being An Alarmist

As Africa Youth Advocate & I read with great concern on the article published today in one online media (tumfweko) in which UPND Leader Mr. Hakainde Hichilema is quoted to have stated and claimed that The Republican President of Zambia is after his life as notified, He also claims that if elected he would end violence in 30 days.

Let’s consciously pause for a minute country men and women. I am sure you my fellow gallant Zambians are aware that this is not the first time Mr. Hichilema is making such alarming insinuative claims in order to draw and sway the people from real issues to cheap long gone politics of undue sympathy at the expense of providing solution oriented checks and balance to the incumbant elected government. Need i remind Mr. Hichilema that the electorates are tired of such rhetoric claims as it has become more like his political chorus of crying foul all the time instead of focusing on repositioning and guiding the UPND TOWARDS THE JUST AROUND THE CORNER 2021 ELECTIONS with less 1,100 days to go. This tendency must stop because it is depreciating his political image and dwindling his fortunes interims of popularity, worse still disturbing to his followers as they may be constantly be living in fear of their own shadows when no one is perusing either them or their leader .

Again he goes back to his conditional political dangles of claiming that unless he is voted into power that’s when he can end violence within 30 days…so meaning in an event he is not voted into office in 2021 then the UPND will continue with its current violent tag? meaning he is deliberately tolerating the vice which he now may be using to hold Zambians at ransom that only when voted as President will he end violence? unless these thought provoking questions are answered otherwise it may only makes sense to conclude that it might have been the reason why he had been reluctant to hold dialogue talks with his brother and counterpart President Lungu, despite several appeals from numerous well-meaning individuals and organizations.

Better still, I complement him for finally adhering to the call of dialogue which I am optimistic that both UPND & P.F will approach the process with open unitive and progressive mindsets that represents the aspirations and wishes of the people of Zambia regardless of political affiliations.

My free timely advice, Please Mr. Hichilema get back to the drawing board and help the people Zambia to understand why they should give you a mandate in 2021 as opposed to always making alarming statements that cannot be substantiated. Rest assured that Zambians will give you support should you change your political approach of not only showing that you are concerned about self but about the 16 million plus people who need peace and security assurances more than anything else and least of them all…… alarming statements.

President Lameck Kamalo.
