In my own understanding, being popular in politics will only make you get known to the people but it can never directly have an effect on how they feel about you. You may be a good popular singer but that doesn’t qualify you to be a convincing leader. People may fall in love with your musical talent but not your leadership.
Leadership centers on influence, the art to convince people believing in what you speak,do and utmostly the hope you render to them. Being popular is not a problem, even Zodwa wa bantu or Pilato is popular than most of these politicias but does that aspect automatically make them leaders? Definitely NO.
What I am simply saying is that our opposition political parties are missing the real deal of influential leaders at the expense of adopting popular candidates. In this way,no party will ever unsit PF. It’s like PF chose to adopt JK for Mayor and leave out credible crop of influential leaders in the party.Yes JK is popular in his own art and talent but is he influential to influence decisions of people?
As things stand, the mayoral position in Lusaka has come at a silver plate for PF. All those celebrities adopted by respective opposition political parties are a rejected crop of people who can’t match the choice of Patriotic Front mayoral candidate.
I hope Upnd will not continue blaming ECZ of rigging elections when a mistake is of their own making.

Exactly I agree with you, just like HH, unfortunately for him he is not even popular in 6.5 provinces, it is high time for UPND decided to change the top leadership if they are to have a chance to win 2021 presidential election otherwise you will continue crying until you die from BP.

Well observed and said. The problem is that all UPND members think HH is the only person to lead the party, while HH has lamentably failed to sale himself to the people. He has only succeeded in insulting the President and inciting the rest of world to turn against his own country. When one thinks critically about HH, it is really difficult to remove the Tribal Tag from him because he is typically “them guys”.
Unfortunately, they never learn. Wonder why fat Albert, aka GBM is clinging to the under something HH.
