Social media users have called on the Minister of Mines to resign.Barely days before Black mountain disaster, Minister of Mines and Mineral development Richard Musukwa assured the nation that operations at the Black Mountain were safe trashing a video that went viral on social media showing how dangerous the operations at the black mountains were been carried out. part of his statement quoted in the daily mail of Zambian read: ” The black mountain is not disaster in waiting, operations are been supervised by the mines safety department, he said. He allayed fears coming from a video circulating on social media in which a portion of the mountain is seen crumbling down. He said the crumbling of the material in question was a planned operation aimed at bringing down an over hanging.”
The nation is mourning for of lives that were lost today resulting from the collapse of part of the black mountain. More than 12 people are confirmed dead.
May the deceased rest in peace. Could someone kindly enlighten some of us on this “black mountain”, is it a normal mining operation or unauthorized illegal dealing?
If the jerabos did not put up safety measures who should be blamed?
It is sad to learn the death of our young men. MTSRIP. The government should be blamed for this fatality, the “Black mountain” was weaken by uncontrolled blasting may be the blasting were being carried out by inexperienced blasters. I am waiting for a comment from the Minister of Mines & Mineral Development.
