Former World Boxing Council bantamweight gold Catherine Phiri has been given a second chance to challenge current WBC super-bantamweight champion Fatuma Zarika.
Phiri has permanently moved from bantamweight to super bantamweight after her December fight with Zarika.
Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions manager Christopher Malunga has thanked WBC for according his boxer a rematch as he believes the December fight was a close call.
And Catherine who is already in camp is optimistic she will grab the belt from the current champion.
Zarika retained her crown in December 2017 after she defeated Catherine 97-92, 98-91 and 99-92 at the Carnivore in Nairobi.
The date for the rematch will only be announced once the two camps have signed the contract.
