ZESCO United yesterday took a giant step towards retaining the Super Division title after beating determined Forest Rangers in a Week 21 Ndola derby to open up a six-point lead.
“The game was tough. We knew what to expect from Forest. They beat us in the first encounter and it was payback time. We knew it was going to be tough especially that it was a derby and we planned well for them,” Zesco assistant coach Alfred Lupiya said in an interview after the match.
The win pushed champions Zesco to 51 points while second-placed Green Buffaloes have 45. Forest have 29 points.
