NDC to Start Protests Against Awarding Of Contracts To Chinese Firms

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will next month start countrywide protests to express their displeasure at the continued awarding of contracts by Government to Chinese firms.

NDC National Youth Chairperson, Charles Kabwita says the protests will start with Kitwe on 3rd August

Mr Kabwita says the protests will then move to Chingola and Mufulira districts on the 10th and 17th of August respectively.

He says the protests will be staged at respective District Commissioners’ offices starting at 09.00 hours.

Mr Kabwita says NDC youths are instructed to be clad in black attires on the days of the protests.

Mr. Kabwita has regretted that Government has continued awarding what he has termed as dubious contracts to Avic International at the expense of competent local contractors.

He laments that Zambian contractors have completely been sidelined, stating that it’s unfair for the PF Government to be creating jobs for foreigners at the expense of its own people.
