The Chipata Magistrates’ Court has sentenced an MTN booth handler to three months simple imprisonment for theft by servant.

Before Resident Magistrate Boniface Mwala was Jennifer Malingu who pleaded guilty to the charge.

Facts of the matter where that on an unknown date, but between June 24 and July 17, 2018 Malingu stole 3, 295 Kwacha that came in her possession by virtue of her employment.

When asked why she stole the money, Malingu told the court that she got the money and used it on her father’s medical fees as he is admitted at UTH in Lusaka.

Magistrate Mwala sentenced her to three months simple imprisonment with effect from yesterday.
