sent the solidarity message ahead of the forthcoming 2018 Zimbabwe general.
Delivering the message to the Zimbabwean Embassy in Zambia, ZAMSOF Coordinator Gershom Kabaso pleaded with the Zimbabwean Electoral Commission(ZEC) to harmonize election in order to elect republican president, MPs and local government officials on 30th July 2018.
Mr Kabaso said basing on the extracts information compiled from recent report conducted by experienced practitioner Peace and Repression Monitor (PRM) who were deployed in Zimbabwe between 3rd to 12 July 2018.,there is little doubt that several factors have been observed that 2018 Zimbabwe harmonised election will be free and fair than any election that has come before it because the political environment is very conducive for all political parties to campaign freely than previous years.
He added that there is good media coverage as public media is covering even the oppositions. He said notwithstanding these improvements, still there are some elements that raises some concerns about the militarization of Zimbabwe and failure of the election to sincerely address the systemic and structural concerns of the Zimbabwe citizens.
Mr Kabaso said this 8a a time for revitalization and recovery of Zimbabwe, saying this election is crucial in determining Zimbabwe’s future direction.
