Koffi Fails To Appear Before Court

A renowned Congolese musician Antoine Christopher Agpepa, alias Koffi Olomide has failed to appear before the Lusaka magistrate court in a case in which he is accused of assaulting a freelance journalist Jean Ndayisenga on 28th December, 2012.

When the matter came up for plea, the lawyer who represented the accused person as a friend of the court Jonas Zimba told the court that the accused person could not appear before court because the summons were not personally served on him by the complainant.

In response, the complainant lawyer Gilbert Phiri applied for an adjournment to allow his client personally effect service to the musician.

Koffi Olomide is in the country to perform a series of shows in Lusaka and the Copperbelt respectively.
And while in the country, Koffi has held talks with Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo and has also taken time to visit old people’s homes.

Before his arrival in the country the police released a statement revealing that the musician had no any criminal record and that the alleged assault on a journalist was closed due to lack of evidence
