A 35-YEAR-OLD husband of Kitwe has sued a 19-year old boy for allegedly committing adultery with his wife. Before Bulangililo senior local court magistrate was Moses Chama, who sued Bernard Kasanda, demanding compensation for committing adultery with his wife.

Chama testified that when he left home for two weeks, he learnt that his wife had abandoned the matrimonial home and was living with the boy.
He narrated that his marriage with his wife was okay until she started keeping late nights. He said his wife would also go away from home without informing him of where she was going.

Chama said in April this year, the two had an argument and his wife decided to leave home with their child without stating where they were going. He told the court that he decided to check for his wife at his mother-in-law’s house after seeing that a week had elapsed without her showing up.

He said his wife had not been at his mother-in-law’s house, but that when they went to look for her, he saw his child coming out of Kasanda’s yard and that when he asked his child where the mother was, she informed him that they had been living at Kasanda’s house. “When I called out my wife, she came out and told me that our marriage was over and that she has since been married by Kasanda. Her words surprised me because we have never been separated ,” he said.

And Kasanda told the court that Angela was his childhood girlfriend but that they broke up after he left Bulangililo. He said when he came back, he met Angela, who informed him that she had separated from her husband. Kasanda said he restarted his relationship but was later shocked to find out that Angela was still married to Chama.

And the court proved that Kasanda was having an affair with Angela and that they are still living together because Angela does not want to get back with Chama.
