A THIRTY-ONE YEAR-OLD housewife of Mansa has shocked the local court by choosing her lover over her husband because he satisfies her in bed.
Josephine Mwenya who was before the court said she was no longer interested in her marriage because her husband did not satisfy her in bed.
This was heard before senior local court Magistrate Leorntina Zaloumis and magistrate Margaret Sankalimba in a case in which Bornface Bwalya sued Dominic Musonda for adultery.
Mwenya, who was a witness for Musonda, said she was shocked that her husband had sued her lover for adultery when they are no longer living together. She said she has been on separation with her husband for a month now and did not regard him as her husband.
“I met Musonda when I was on separation with my husband while coming from my parent’s house and we started an affair,” she said.
Mwenya said her husband is a lazy man who fails to satisfy her in bed hence her decision to marry Musonda, whom she said makes her happy.
And Musonda said he met Mwenya in June this year and proposed love to her.
He said before making his intensions known, he asked Mwenya 10 times if she was a married woman but she refused. “When I met Mwenya, I fell in love with her and I asked her 10 times if she was married but she refused. The following day I met her parents and we started living together,” he narrated.
Musonda said Mwenya even swore to his face that she was not a married woman and did have any children. He said after a few days, Bwalya went to his house and started insulting him saying he has been sleeping with his wife. And Bwalya told the court that he married Mwenya in 2010 and they have two children together. He said the two lived in harmony until last year when his wife started going home past midnight.
Bwalya said each time she returned home in the middle of the night, she would insult him and call him a useless man. He said on June 16, 2018, Mwenya left the matrimonial home and never returned, only to hear from his friend that she was staying with another man. Bwalya said he then decided to visit Musonda’s house, where he found his wife sleeping and wearing the defendants T- shirt. Bwalya begged the court to order Musonda to compensate him for sleeping with his wife.
And in passing judgement, magistrate Sankalimba found that Mwenya was still married to Bwalya and that the two are just committing adultery.
Mrs Sakalimba advised men to find out the background of women they are dating before choosing to marry them. She upheld the claim and ordered Musonda to compensate Bwalya with K3, 000 in instalments of K200 per month.
