Lusambo Says Government Will Not Entertain Illegal Land Allocation

USAKA Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has warned of stern action against individuals who are engaging in illegal land allocation and encroachment under the pretext of being Patriotic Front (PF) members. He said such people are tarnishing Government’s name.

He said it is unacceptable for criminals to be disguising themselves as PF cadres to grab land from innocent citizens and performing other illegalities.
Mr Lusambo said this on Wenesday when he went to check a piece of land belonging to Baptist Church in Garden township which has been by a man identified as Sakala, who is illegally selling it to unsuspecting citizens. “People who are doing illegal activities should know that I will not allow such activities,” he said.

Mr Lusambo said he will ensure that sanity is restored in the allocation of land in Lusaka Province. “How can someone sell such a small piece of land to three people and this place does not even have sanitation facilities. This is what causes diseases such as cholera to break out,” he said.

Mr Lusambo said Government will not entertain land encroachments and illegal land allocation because such vices are a source of anarchy. He said President Edgar Lungu is leading a disciplined Government and political party which do not condone criminals. Mr Lusambo said Government will only work with people who have a heart for others.

Mr Lusambo said Zambians should not be made to believe that Government tolerates illegality. He said the PF administration is focusing on impacting people positively by constructing roads, health posts, hospitals and schools, among other amenities.

Mr Lusambo said it is unfortunate that there are some criminal elements that are deemed on tarnishing Government’s image by using it to perform injustices against citizens. He said people who are engaging in criminal activities are
