The man behind the video which went viral on Social media where he was seen sexually harassing a woman in an unconscious state is still in police custody awaiting to be charged.
He was arrested by police officers in Petauke and he is identified as Rodgers Mwanza 38 of Petauke Township. He was apprehended at about 15:30 hours in Lilongwe, Malawi where he went to hide.
The suspect initially attempted to mislead the Police by stating that he was in Mozambique when in the actual fact he was in Lilongwe. A comprehensive statement will be issued soon.
A statement was already recorded from the victim who had availed herself to Police. Police Public Relations Officer Esther M. Katongo said in a statement today.
