 While, constructive criticism of the Republican President Edgar Lungu is acceptable, hate speech, mudslinging, character-assassination and malice is unacceptable.

Zambian DNA has observed with great sadness how some disgruntled political party leaders, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Church leaders have taken turns to attack President Lungu and other Government officials relentlessly out of malice and envy.

We see no value for the said leaders to pursue non-issue based politics when Zambians expect them to provide alternative solutions to many problems the country is currently facing.

We believe that constructive criticism is the only best way we could build the country anchored on ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION, and not pulling down those in power.

For example, the opposition political parties should provide checks and balances to Government instead of playing politics on critical national issues that affect the Zambians people.

In the same vein, we do not believe that there’s a breakdown of the rule of law as purported by some opposition political party leaders.

Further, the notion that there’s a political crisis in the country is baseless, unfounded and intended to mislead the Zambian people and erode their confidence in their elected Government under the able leadership of President Lungu.

More so, CSOs in an alliance with media outlets hostile to Government have joined the bandwagon of cheap politicking instead of advising Government on various social and economic developmental issues.

The penchant of both opposition political parties and CSOs to portray that there’s a national debt crisis in the country when in fact not is worrisome.

We are alive to the fact that the national debt is within acceptable ratio to the country’s GDP, and the Ministry of Finance has already put in measures to manage the debt service obligations to the creditors.

We urge the Zambian people not to fall prey to the merchants and prophets of doom as theirs is a selfish agenda intended to bring down the democratically elected Government. They should instead rally behind the tested, trusted and able leadership of President.
