United Peaceful and Prosperous Zambia(UPPZ) National Spokesperson Francis Kope was not leaving any stone unturned as he took on Patriotic Front(PF) “iron lady” Mumbi Mumbi head on for daring the party to adduce evidence of the alleged rigged Kasenengwa by-elections.
Addressing the Press in Lusaka, Mrs Phiri who is PF Deputy Secretary General said it is unfortunate that the UPPZ is alleging that it was robbed of victory in the Kasenengwa by-elections and challenged them to produce evidence.
But Appearing on the Revelation TV Programme, Mr Kope warned Mrs Phiri not to “push the party against the wall” because it has more evidence than she expects to see.
Mr Kope, however, said the party will not succumb to Mrs Phiri challenge and take the volumes of evidence it has to her office.
“What Mumbi Phiri is doing is politicking.Mumbi Phiri has a level of politics where she talks about men of big berries. You know her. The level of her politics is very low. You remember that during the Presidency of Micheal Sata, she was recalled as Ambassador of Kenya. This is a person whom late Micheal Sata saw nothing in her and that’s why she was recalled. So, we can’t get to the level of Mumbi Phiri’s politics and politicking. We are into the business of offering solutions. We are into the business of being an alternative Government. We can’t act in levels of bringing  the evidence to you when that is a song of the PF, ‘If you are saying that the Ministers are corrupt, where is the evidence? but you are the same people who said that your Ministers are corrupt and then you are demanding for evidence from an ordinary citizen? What about the Financial Intelligence Report(FIC) When the FIC report came out, you started talking about madam(FIC Director General) Mary Tsuma’s marriage. These are people who are in the ruling party but behaving like opposition in fact, they are the ruling opposition political party PF. We don’t want to get to levels of these…in fact we don’t want to wake up the sleeping giant in Mumbi Phiri because we know she will start insulting everyone ,” he said.
Mr Kope further challenged Mrs Phiri.
“What we are saying is Mumbi Phiri sit down, Just sit down, we have evidence. If President Micheal Sata heard you saying this, he will be shocked and if he finds you in that position, he will be shocked. So, just sit down, there is evidence. You want me to bring evidence to your office? The mainstream media carried the story, Prime TV was on the ground and they did a story. Then there was a funny statement from a funny PF member that the mainstream media could not have published that… they should have facts, they should have asked her before publishing the story. Ask you what? The story is a story even before reactions. These people have reduced Journalists to the level of reactions and they want everyone to ask for reactions. No, They are professional Journalists who report things as it is. They reported as it was. Somebody(Mr Muwowo) was stabbed and then two days later you want to lie that he fell on the scissors,” he said
Mr Kope said a lot of lies have been peddled on the political affiliation of Mr Muwowo who was stabbed by the PF thugs in Kasenengwa Constituency recently.
“The first statement was that Mr Muwowo was the PF Information and Publicity Secretary and the next statement was that he was a ward chairperson. So, which one is which. Of course, he was a PF member sometime back then came to UPPZ, the party that cares about the farmers, the party that talks about land policy, the party that looks at future generations, the party that is concerned about the many kongoles(debts) that the PF is accruing, at the expense of the civil servants, at the expense of the namayo(woman) who is languishing without a place where to sell tomatoes, at the expense of the youth who does not have a job despite being qualified. The PF is politicking and we want to tell Mumbi Phiri to sit down and continue eating whatever she is eating. Time will catch up with her,” Mr Kope said.
He said the UPPZ will make sure that the PF does not go beyond 2021 because of their failed policies.
Mr Kope said all the PF the PF has engaged “an opposition consultant” Antonio Mwanza’s to help them with transition from ruling to opposition because they cannot manage to rule.
“…Ruling is a commitment. You have to wake up every morning and think how how are going sort out this and that problem. What our friends do when they work up is to ask who has said this?who is against us? who is saying that our relationship with the Chinese is bad and who is saying that we can’t manage the debt. Come on, let us talk about issues. If you start talking about issues then you become an enemy of the PF,” he said.
