Mwanakatwe: Zambia’s Coffers Have Enough Dollars

ZAMBIA has adequate United States (US) dollars in its reserves and the private sector has been urged to increase production for the country to earn more foreign exchange.

Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe says the depreciation of the country’s unit (Kwacha) is not peculiar to Zambia but that other countries in the region are also experiencing the same.

She attributed the adverse impact on the Kwacha and other currencies to the strengthening of the US dollar.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by Ministry of Finance public relations officer Chileshe Kandeta.
