EMEA Names Stanbic Best Bank In Zambia

BEING named as the Best Bank in Zambia is testament to the hard work by our management and staff, and the support of our loyal customers, says Stanbic Zambia chief executive officer Leina Gabaraane.

According to a statement, Stanbic has been named the Best Bank in Zambia by the EMEA Finance 2018 African Banking Awards.

Standard Bank, of which Stanbic Zambia is a member, received 23 awards in the 11th anniversary edition of the awards, scooping Best Investment Bank in Africa, among other accolades.

Gabaraane said the award reflected the strong management, sound business model and strategy the bank had adopted.

“Stanbic has worked tirelessly to serve its customers, introduce innovation and new products, and heed government’s calls to support the development of the nation,” said Gabaraane.

“Being named as the Best Bank in Zambia is testament to that hard work by all our management and staff, and the support of our loyal customers. As Stanbic, we’ve been here in Zambia for over 60 years and have been part of the growth of this country we call home.”

Agriculture and agri-business are among of the main focuses for Stanbic with over US$155 million invested in the sector and the bank has spent over US$150 million and US$385 million in infrastructure development and energy respectively.

Stanbic will receive the accolade at the annual EMEA Finance awards ceremony held at the Law Society in London on December 6, which recognises the achievements of the best commercial and investment banks as well as asset managers and brokers in countries across Africa.

EMEA Finance magazine is directed to an executive level audience that includes chief executive officers, chief financial officers, chief investment officers and financial and business professionals.
