Ex-Hubby Fails To Pay Tuition Fees After White Wedding

A woman of Kalulushi seeking education support for her two children from her former husband expressed shock that her former lover was failing to pay tuition fees for his children when he recently had a powerful white wedding.

The two children, who are at Kalulushi Trust School are owing the school K16,900 and they have since been sent away. Beatrice Bwalya sued Kelvin Amukusana for child support before the Kitwe local court. The two have three children together. Bwalya testified that the court gave her custody of their children in June this year when they divorced.

She told the court that their two children are currently not going to school because they have not paid school fees for two terms now. Bwalya said she has on several occasions tried to engage her ex-husband on the matter but that he keeps on insisting that he has no money. “I do not believe his excuse of not having money because he recently had a white wedding which proves that he has money,” she said.

And Amukusana denied the allegations from his former wife that he did not support his children and told the court that he is currently facing financial challenges. He told the court that he loves his children and would not want to see them suffer.

Amukusana also told the court that his wedding was successful because of his family members, who helped him meet some of the costs. And Kitwe senior local court magistrate Fredrick Ndhlovu upheld the claim and ordered Amukusana to ensure he supports his children with K 1,000 on a monthly basis. Magistrate Ndhlovu also ordered Amukusana to ensure he pays his children’s school fees before the end of this year.
