Many Will Leave PF, Says Kalaba

HARRY Kalaba says many PF members will soon start resigning from the ruling party as a lot of people are dissatisfied with what is going on. Meanwhile, Senanga residents yesterday mobbed Kalaba with one saying he did very well to resign as the PF “are leading people into a ditch”.

Kalaba, the Bahati PF member of parliament, told members of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God at a special church meeting that he had made up his decision to resign as minister as far back as August last year.
He said he went on fasting so as to find out if the decision he was embarking on was out of emotions.
“I resigned because I believe that the country can’t continue settling for mediocrity. A lot of people are dissatisfied with what is going on…. I will not go back as minister or apologise. What we have started is a revolution and those doubting (in PF) will soon resign to join us. With your prayers, I will stand as president in 2021 and win,” Kalaba said.
Rev Nicolas Tembo told Kalaba that he had taken a difficult road which needed God’s cover.
“Congratulations for the bold step you have taken. It is not an easy one, fear God. Some claim to fear God but what they do is something else…. When you become president we will know that now we have a Christian head of state…. I can see that you are rising,” he said.
Rev Zulu said Zambia was led by recycled leaders thus hindering development.
Kalaba accompanied by United for Better Zambia president Hector Soondo, Democratic Party mobilisation chairperson Chapiya Shalusabanga and other Western Province party officials, ate nshima at a restauarant in Senanga town around 09:00 hours after interacting with marketeers mainly women who complained of poor business.
“It is a miracle if I manage to sell my fish, but I have to pay school fees for my children. This government is putting us through hell. There is no money,” complained one trader.
A youth said Zambia needs people with Kalaba’s principals.
“I am happy that you resigned because you were headed for a ditch. Those still in the PF will soon perish,” said the youth.
