STATEMENT ON THE FORTHCOMING DAY OF NATIONAL PRAYERS AND FASTING

October 17, 2018

Zambians should attend the forthcoming Day of National Prayers and Fasting tomorrow October 18 without fail regardless of their political or religious affiliations.

We, a consortium of non-governmental organisations, are appealing to the majority Zambians across the political divide and various religious denominations, who uphold Christian values and principles and believe in God, not to be swayed by disgruntled elements, but rise to the occasion as they have always done.

As for those who do not want to set aside time and join the majority Zambians in seeking God’s intervention in the affairs of the country, it’s not only a secret that most of them habitually shun national events and defy the long-held Christian brotherhood, but also demonstrates that they are not ready to participate in the most- anticipated national dialogue.
