CHISHIMBA Kambwili says contrary to reports, he gave presidential affairs minister Freedom Sikazwe “the taste of his traditional medicine, a small punishment that we can hit back”.
Explaining the fracas at Parliament, this time from Sikazwe after he called him a witch, Kambwili claimed when he hit back, Sikazwe cried like a baby.
Kambwili said “aleposafye aya mumwela amakofi tapali ilyafikile pamubili. Bushe ulya ewinga posa ikofi lyaikata ine (his blows were just landing in the air, no blow landed on my body. Is he a person that can throw a punch and it lands on me?)”
As Kambwili was debating the 2019 budget on Monday evening, Sikazwe kept interrupting with running commentaries but in retaliation, the Roan PF member of parliament asked him what he was doing in Lusaka when all his friends were witchdoctors or witches in the village.
In fury, Sikazwe reached for Kambwili’s throat while throwing punches to everyone’s shock and awe.
In an interview, Kambwili said PF members have now resorted to fighting when they are told the truth but vowed to continue on the same path of reminding them of their failures.
“When you are starting up a fight, you should assess the risk. When he started passing those running commentaries, he should have assessed what kind of a person he was provoking because I am capable of hitting back. But when I hit back, he cried like a baby…assess the risk,” he said.
“This shows what kind of government we have and what kind of advice it receives. Listen to the House of Commons, the Prime Minister’s question time…the Prime Minister is told off but has he [or she] ever fought, thrown punches? This shows you the kind of leaders you have that indeed they are witchdoctors. I just gave him the taste of his traditional medicine, a small punishment that we can hit back.”
Sikazwe could not pick calls made to his number.
In October last year, Kambwili told Parliament that Bowman Lusambo had slapped him twice in the car park at Parliament buildings.
Kambwili also alleged that lands minister Jean Kapata poured a full bottle of water on him during the fracas.
Kambwili, rose on a point of order to reported to the Speaker Dr Patrick Matibini that Lusambo and Kapata had attacked him in the car park in the presence of then foreign minister Harry Kalaba, the finance minister Felix Mutati and MMD faction national secretary Raphael Nakacinda.
